An attractive station café has been created in the old train station in Laer, inviting young and old to take a break with coffee and cake or cold drinks.

Because it is located directly on the old Steinfurt-Coesfeld railroad line, which has long been developed as a very beautiful bike path, the beautifully designed facility certainly invites you to take a short or longer break.

Bicycle track

Where a few years ago dozens of trains ran daily, hundreds of bicycles now ride. The former railroad line between Coesfeld and Rheine has been expanded into a first-class bike path that attracts local and foreign cyclists.

Discover the "RadBahn Münsterland", which was once part of the Oberhausen-Quakenbrück rail link. In 2007, the municipality decided to purchase the old, unused railroad line and set the course for a comfortable bike path. Today you are always in 1st class there: members of the historical association ensure along the route that the remnants of railroad history remain recognizable and that the route is ideal for riding due to its comfortable asphalt surface and a width of 3 meters.

Almost without incline, it leads through the typical Münsterland park landscape. The RadBahn Münsterland connects the two lively shopping towns of Coesfeld and Rheine. It leads through the Baumberge and Steinfurter Land cycling regions, past the towns of Coesfeld, Billerbeck, Rosendahl, Laer, Horstmar, Steinfurt, Wettringen and Neuenkirchen to Rheine - the reverse is of course also possible.
