Bierbaum Unternehmensgruppe GmbH & Co. KG produces household textiles and technical textiles for filters and car construction. The main factory was founded in 1895. Bierbaum produces thermal 'nonwovens' for cleaning cloths at its main factory in Borken and maintains full finishing and administration at its headquarters. Bierbaum also has strategic partnerships in several countries, which include manufacturing woven goods on contract but on their own machines. In 2017, the Bierbaum group of companies achieved group sales of EUR 137 million with 780 employees (of which 490 in Germany). It comprises five sites, including three plants in Germany with a built-up area of around 105,000 m².

Bierbaum carries out integrated processes in textile production from weaving/knitting to thermally bonded needle-fleece nonwovens, finishing of the fibres and fabrics, to packaging and shipping (logistics) ready for sale. The production base is geographically dispersed to access low-cost labour, but is still located in Germany with a relatively large share. Besides the Bierbaum brand, the registered trademarks BIBA, Flinka and Irisette are also marketed.

The fourth generation of the company is run by the Bierbaum family. Tradition and innovation - the dynamism resulting from the interaction between these two essentials has made Bierbaum the market leader.
