Boekelo Zouttoren

A salt tower is a facility for extracting salt from the subsoil. In Boekelo and Twekkelo there are still original salt towers, which were used to extract salt from the subsoil. In the ridge of the salt towers is a hoisting installation with which the drill pipes could be hoisted from the ground. Almost all the towers have been replaced by salt houses.
