DE PIEPERMOLEN

The Pieper Mill, a stone bell mill, was built in 1796. After the mill's sails broke during a storm in 1940, the hull fell into an increasingly dilapidated state for thirty years. In 1970, however, the Piepermolen was restored, using parts of stripped and demolished mills. The mill takes its name from the family name of its owners between 1907 and 1965.

The shape of the Pieper Mill is unusual: the bottom two meters is cylindrical, then the course upward is strongly waisted conical. The sails are Old Dutch and the mill is equipped with two pairs of grinding stones, which are used to grind fodder on a voluntary basis.

The mill is owned by the Eiberg Windmills Foundation.
